Opening
At MetroPrep, some of our most meaningful learning takes place beyond the classroom.
Excursions connect academic learning with real-world experiences, allowing students to explore history, science, business, politics, culture, the arts, and the natural world firsthand. Whether visiting Parliament Hill, attending a Broadway production, conducting university laboratory activities, exploring conservation areas, or travelling internationally, students develop curiosity, confidence, and a deeper understanding of the world around them.
Every excursion is carefully designed to complement classroom learning while strengthening friendships, building independence, and creating experiences students remember long after graduation.
Why Experiential Learning Matters
By exploring new environments and engaging directly with people, places, and ideas, students develop skills that cannot be taught through textbooks alone.
MetroPrep excursions encourage students to:
- Connect classroom learning with real-world experiences
- Develop confidence, independence, and resilience
- Build leadership, communication, and teamwork
- Explore universities, industries, and future careers
- Develop global awareness and cultural understanding
- Strengthen friendships and school community
Whether travelling across Toronto or across the world, every experience becomes part of a student’s educational journey.
