This September, MetroPrep is heading to the Stratford. On Friday, September 18, students in Grades 7-12 will travel together to the Stratford Festival to experience a live production of J.R.R. Tolkien’s The Hobbit.

From Middle-earth to the Stage

J.R.R. Tolkien’s The Hobbit has captivated generations of readers with its world of adventure, courage and imagination. This September, MetroPrep students will see that world come alive on the Stratford stage.

The production will give students an opportunity to experience the many elements that come together in professional theatre, from acting and directing to costumes, sets, lighting, sound and stagecraft, while offering a fresh perspective on how a celebrated work of literature can be reimagined for a live audience.

A Day for the Whole School

What makes this trip especially exciting is that the entire MetroPrep student community, Grades 7 through 12, is going together.

Beyond the performance itself, Stratford offers a chance to step outside the regular school day, spend time together and share an experience across grades. It’s a day of theatre, culture and community and, we hope, one students will be talking about long after the final curtain.

The Curtain Goes Up September 18

On September 18, MetroPrep is trading classrooms for the theatre and heading to Stratford for a school-wide adventure.
