The Girls’ Volleyball team kicked off their season strong, defeating Willowgrove in three straight sets. From that very first match, the team showed determination, skill, and outstanding teamwork.
Throughout the season, each player worked to strengthen her individual game while building trust, communication, and chemistry on the court. That dedication paid off as the team earned a spot in the finals tournament, where they competed with heart and resilience. Led by co-captains Maliha and Charlotte, the team represented Metro Prep with pride and sportsmanship every step of the way.
This team worked incredibly hard to build their skills and understanding of the game in practice, and it showed. On the court, the players never gave up while searching for the win, and the bruises, bumps, and scrapes along the way were signs of just how much passion and determination they brought to every game.
Beyond the wins, this was a team that stood out for who they were as teammates. During one game, a father of two players on the opposing team approached the Metro Prep bench afterward to ask who they were. He said he was so impressed with the team’s communication, their support for one another, and their genuine love of the game that he found himself cheering for Metro Prep rather than his own daughters’ team.
It is a moment that captures what Metro Prep is about, and why people take notice whenever this team steps onto the court.
Here’s to a great season from the entire team: Amalia, Maliha, Rileigh, Charlotte, Gamsa, Alissa, and Jordyn. Congratulations, girls!
