Galway takes an early lead as MetroPrep students reunite with their House Families
The competition is officially underway!
On September 11, MetroPrep students gathered for the first House Family meeting and challenge of the 2026-2027 school year, bringing together returning students and welcoming new students into one of our four Houses: Connemara, Dublin, Galway, and Kildare.
For returning students, it was a chance to reconnect with their House teammates and rekindle some friendly rivalries. For students new to MetroPrep, it marked an important tradition: the moment they discovered which House Family they would become part of during their time at the school.
After getting acquainted and building some House spirit, it was time for the year’s first challenge: Ring Toss.
The competition was close, but Galway House claimed first place, earning the first major House points of the year. Dublin, our reigning 2025-2026 House Champions, finished second, while Connemara and Kildare tied for third.
Four Houses. One MetroPrep Community.
House Challenges are about much more than points and trophies. Throughout the year, students compete in academic, athletic, creative, and just-for-fun challenges that bring different grades together and encourage teamwork, leadership, school spirit, and plenty of friendly competition.
Every challenge brings the Houses one step closer to the ultimate prize: being crowned MetroPrep House Champions at the end of the school year.
And Galway shouldn’t get too comfortable at the top. The next House Challenge is already approaching, with students set to compete again on September 18 as MetroPrep heads to Stratford for our school-wide trip to the Stratford Festival.
One challenge down. A whole year of competition to go.
Congratulations to Galway on taking the early lead, and may the best House win!
