On May 11, 2026, Metro Prep’s accounting, international business, and economics students visited the CBC Broadcasting Centre for a live taping of Dragons’ Den.
Students watched market strategies, product innovation, and investment negotiations happen in real time. Seeing exactly what it takes to secure capital and convince seasoned investors gave the group a practical look at how an idea moves from a simple concept to a fully funded reality.
After the cameras stopped, several of the Dragons stayed behind to take questions directly from students, speaking candidly about what actually separates a pitch that gets funded from one that does not.
For students used to studying business cases on paper, the visit offered something closer to the real thing: a clearer sense of what it actually takes to build an idea and defend it in front of people holding the money.
