Truth and Reconciliation 2023

On Friday September 29th, students and staff participated in annual Metro Prep workshops that aim to provide understanding and a path forward towards Truth and Reconciliation across Canada.

Led by Joanna Johnson, Alicia Rout and Ryan Seeley, these workshops involved listening to the voices, experiences, and concerns of Indigenous people across the country.  We were fortunate to be joined by an Indigenous guest speaker (who is also Alicia’s cousin) and we worked collaboratively to create an art piece that reflects the many voices and contributions of our First Nations.  This piece is interwoven into last year’s creation and will be displayed in the hallway.

Our Orange Shirt Day was definitely a day to remember and reflect upon.  Thank you to all who participated so meaningfully.
