Each day, beginning Monday March 23, our teachers will be conducting live instructional meetings for all of their courses. These sessions will use the Zoom online conferencing platform, which is available on computers and mobile devices.
All start times will follow Metro Prep’s revised bell schedule for Distance Learning:

Our students are expected to continue their education as best as they can, and should attend all of their classes whenever possible. These important live sessions will provide opportunities for:
- students to ask questions or discuss the previous day’s assigned work
- teachers to provide lectures, introduce new handouts, notes, assignments or other materials being posted to Edsby
- teachers to check in with the class, both socially and professionally
- a scheduled time for students to focus on learning and progressing through the necessary coursework
Approximately 5 minutes before each period begins, students should visit their class page in Edsby and click the Zoom meeting link.
When using smartphones or tablets for the first time, you will be prompted to download the “Zoom Cloud Meetings” mobile app. Laptops and desktop computers will download and launch the Zoom application, or can join directly using the web browser. If you are experiencing difficulties getting started, we suggest launching via the Zoom application and using the Chrome web browser.
Teachers will use combinations of audio, video and screen sharing during Zoom times, and continue posting supplemental materials using Edsby as they have been doing before. In case of technical or internet issues, teachers will also provide details on how to call in and join via telephone (or catch up on missed lectures) in each Edsby class.
