As the global pandemic continues to evolve, we all find ourselves in uncharted waters. During these increasingly challenging times of distance and isolation, connecting with each other has never been more important.
I am so incredibly proud of how our staff has rallied together to help our students and each other over the last few weeks. Their commitment and dedication have helped Metro Prep lead the pack in the shift to online classes and continuity of learning, giving everyone a bit more certainty during these uncertain times.
It has been wonderful receiving such positive feedback and appreciation from so many parents as our teachers were able to quickly jump - or should I say Zoom - into live sessions. They have kept courses running, provided spaces for everyone to come together, and are really showcasing the best of Metro Prep spirit and strength!
As we navigate the days ahead together, the continuity of education through Distance Learning at Metro Prep is becoming increasingly important for the success and wellbeing of our entire student population.
Now and always, the health and safety of every school and family member will remain our top priority. In an abundance of caution, and following the current direction of the public system, we will be extending our online classes until May 1, 2020.
We hope this added time and clarity will provide some peace of mind, allowing you to concentrate on educational goals while also keeping your loved ones safe.
Although our class instruction has been temporarily transitioned to a virtual environment, please understand that attendance is still very real and necessary during this time. Every day, teachers will be taking attendance shortly after the online meeting has started. As we perform a virtual roll call, students will check in verbally or by video.
I want to thank you for your ongoing support and understanding as the circumstances surrounding COVID-19 change rapidly and constantly. In the weeks and months to come, we will always continue to reevaluate our Distance Learning plans in order to ensure the success and well-being of our students and all Metro Prep families.
Please stay positive. Make use of the learning opportunities we present to you each and every day. Continue to do your part with social and physical distancing. Be safe. Stay strong. And be certain that together, we will triumph through this period of uncertainty and beyond.
I look forward to seeing you at Metro Prep as soon as possible!
