University of Ottawa Comes to MetroPrep

MetroPrep students will have the opportunity to connect directly with the University of Ottawa when a university representative visits the school on Thursday, October 15.

The presentation will give students an opportunity to learn more about uOttawa’s undergraduate programs, admission requirements and student experience, while asking questions directly of a university representative as they explore their post-secondary options.

Located in the heart of Canada’s capital, the University of Ottawa offers programs across fields including arts, engineering, health sciences, science, social sciences, education, law and business. As the world’s largest English-French bilingual university, uOttawa also offers students distinctive opportunities to study in English, French or a combination of both languages.

Study, Work and Learn in Canada’s Capital

For students considering uOttawa, the presentation is an opportunity to explore not only what they can study, but the different ways they can shape their university experience.

One distinctive option is uOttawa’s French Immersion Stream, which allows eligible students from English-language high schools to complete part of their degree in French. French Immersion is available in more than 80 undergraduate programs across arts, engineering, health sciences, science, social sciences and the Telfer School of Management.

Students interested in combining academics with professional experience can also explore uOttawa’s extensive co-op program. Co-op is available across more than 90 programs and can provide approximately 16 months of paid work experience in a student’s field of study.

Studying in Ottawa also places students in Canada’s national capital, creating opportunities to learn and gain experience in a city that is home to federal government institutions, national organizations, research centres, technology companies and a diverse professional community.

Students are encouraged to come prepared with questions about programs, admission requirements, French Immersion, co-op, scholarships, residence, campus life and the application process.

The presentation is part of MetroPrep’s ongoing university guidance program, giving students direct opportunities to connect with post-secondary institutions, explore different academic pathways and make informed decisions about their future.
