Queen’s University Comes to MetroPrep

MetroPrep students will have the opportunity to connect directly with Queen’s University when a university representative visits the school on Wednesday, September 30.

Taking place just as the university application season begins, the presentation will give students an opportunity to learn more about Queen’s undergraduate programs, admission requirements and student experience—and to ask questions directly of a university representative as they consider their post-secondary options.

Located in Kingston, Ontario, Queen’s offers undergraduate pathways across arts and science, business, computing, education, engineering, health sciences, kinesiology, music, nursing and other fields. Students can combine academic study with opportunities for research, internships, international experiences and other forms of experiential learning.

For students considering Queen’s, the presentation is an opportunity to look more closely at both the university and the application process.

Students can ask about programs and prerequisites, competitive admission requirements, scholarships and financial aid, residence and campus life, as well as supplementary applications required for certain programs.

They can also explore opportunities beyond the classroom. The Queen’s Undergraduate Internship Program (QUIP), for example, provides eligible students in a number of undergraduate programs with 12- to 16-month paid, professionally supervised internships, allowing them to apply their academic learning in a professional environment.

With applications to Queen’s opening on October 1, the timing of the visit gives interested MetroPrep students an especially valuable opportunity to ask questions before beginning the application process.

The presentation is part of MetroPrep’s ongoing university guidance program, connecting students directly with post-secondary institutions and helping them explore their options, understand admission pathways and make informed decisions about their future.
