Ontario Tech University Presentation

Ontario Tech University Comes to MetroPrep

October 1, 2026

MetroPrep students will have the opportunity to connect directly with Ontario Tech University when a university representative visits the school on Thursday, October 1.

The presentation will give students an opportunity to explore Ontario Tech’s undergraduate programs, admission requirements and student experience, while asking questions directly of a university representative as they consider their post-secondary options.

Located in Oshawa, Ontario Tech offers more than 120 undergraduate programs, with opportunities spanning engineering, computer science, health sciences, business, information technology, science, education, social sciences and other fields. Many programs emphasize the application of knowledge through co-op, internships, research, capstone projects and other forms of experiential learning.

Technology, Innovation and Hands-On Learning

For students interested in how technology is transforming fields ranging from engineering and health care to business and education, the presentation is an opportunity to explore programs designed around a rapidly changing world.

Ontario Tech offers distinctive areas of study including automotive, nuclear, software and mechatronics engineering, as well as computer science, health sciences and technology-focused business programs. Its Automotive Engineering program is the only accredited program of its kind in Canada.

Students can also ask about Ontario Tech’s co-op opportunities. Direct-entry co-op is available from high school in a range of programs, with participating students able to gain up to 20 months of work experience while completing their degree.

Students are encouraged to come prepared with questions about programs, prerequisites and admission requirements, co-op and experiential learning, scholarships, campus life and the application process.

The presentation is part of MetroPrep’s ongoing university guidance program, giving students direct opportunities to connect with post-secondary institutions, investigate different academic and career pathways, and make informed decisions about their future.
